202 - 2025 Ice Time Intentions By Age Group
PLEASE NOTE: The amount of ice time listed for each age group are intentions and not guarantees.
U7 2018-2019 Born
- No games allowed prior to December 1, 2024 (Hockey Sask mandate)
- Season runs October to mid-March
- 1-hour ice times
- 10 cross ice games (1 hour each)
- 28 shared ice practices (1 hour each with 3 teams total) which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr
- SMHA does 14 games for advanced and 10 for beginners. 25 practices for advanced and 28 for beginners
U9 2016-2017 Born
- No games allowed prior to November 15, 2024 (Hockey Sask mandate)
- Season runs October to mid-end of March
- 1-hour ice times
- A division teams get 9 cross-ice home games (1 hour each). The executive looked for other A teams to form a leage to no avail so there is no league for U9 A teams this season. They will get 9 home "exhibition" games instead of 9 home league games. Ideally the teams that our U9 A teams host would have them back for an exhibition game which would get them to a total of 18 games.
- B division teams get 18 cross ice games (1 hour each)
- 27 shared ice practices which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr
- SMHA does 18 games and 25 practices.
U11 2014-2015 Born
- No games allowed prior to November 15, 2024 (Hockey Sask mandate)
- Season runs October to end of March
- 1 ¼ hour ice times
- 20 games
- 25 shared ice practices which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr and 2 goalie sessions
- SMHA does 20 games and 23 practices.
U13 2012-2013 Born
U13 A, B and C:
- Regular season runs end of September to beginning of March
- Playoffs start early March (all teams play double knock out format)
- 18 games (1.75 hours each)
- 21 practices (1 to 1 ¼ hours each) which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr and 2 goalie sessions
- SMHA does 25 practices for B and C and 21 for A that are modified two-hour shared practices with 1 other peewee team where both teams receive 1 ¼ hours on the ice. A teams get 21 full ice practices
U13 AA:
- Regular season runs mid-end of September to end of February. Playoffs finish near the end of March
- Pre-season games start the first week of October
- 3 exhibition games (2 ¾ hours)
- 24 league games (2 ¾ hours)
- 2 Practices per week, up to 48 practices (1 ½ hours) which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr and 2 goalie sessions
- SMHA does the same amount of games and 26 practices.
U15 2010-2011 Born
U15 A, B and C:
- Season runs end of September to beginning of March
- Playoffs start early March (all teams play double knock out format)
- 22 games (2 hours in A, 1.75 hours in B & C)
- 30 practices (1 ¼ to 1 ½ hours each) which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr and 2 goalie sessions
- SMHA does 22 x 1 ¼ hour practices for B and C and 28 for A. C teams get 24 games, B teams get 22 games and A teams get 26 games.
U15 AA:
- Regular season runs mid-end of September to end of February. Playoffs finish near the end of March
- 31 league games (2 ¾ hours)
- 2 Practices per week, up to 48 practices (1 ½ hours) which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr and 2 goalie sessions
- SMHA does the same amount of games and 42 practices the only difference is that they schedule 3 hours for games.
U18 2007-2009 Born
U18 A, B and C:
- Season runs end of September to beginning of March
- Playoffs start early March (all teams play double knock out format)
- 25 games (2 hours in A, 1.75 hours in B & C)
- 25 practices (1 ¼ to 1 ½ hours each) which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr and 1 goalie session
- SMHA does 1 ¼ hour practices. A gets 14, B gets 14 and C gets 10. C teams get 29 games, B teams get 25 games and A teams get 25 games.
U18 AA:
- Regular season runs mid-end of September to end of February. Playoffs finish near the end of March
- 33 league games (2 ¾ hours)
- 2 Practices per week, up to 48 practices (1 ½ hours) which includes 2-4 sessions with Trach Power Skating or Ritchie Regehr and 1 goalie session
